  Welcome to RuneScape Trading Post

Here you can arrange the trading of all your RuneScape possessions.

RuneScape Trading Post is an auction site that enables you to sell off your unwanted items, or buy something you need in the game.

There is no final trading in RuneScape Trading Post, all transactions are finalised in the game worlds. you will not be asked to part with any GP or goods on this site.

Once you have a buyer or have won an item in an auction, you arrange to meet the buyer/seller in a RuneScape world to complete the transaction.

Never tell anyone your RuneScape or RuneScape Trading Post passwords, all normal rules for trading apply see the RuneScape Rules.

RuneScape Trading Post is not affiliated with JAGeX Ltd, RuneScape Trading Post is an independent site designed and managed by RuneScape users.

Registering
When registering on the RuneScape Trading Post, please use the same username as you use in the main RuneScape game, This is so people know who they are looking for in the game when they are completing a transaction. You can use any password, all passwords on this site are fully encrypted so even the site administrators cant see them. You need to register with your correct e-mail address as we need to send you an activation e-mail before you can access the account. See the Terms & Conditions for full details.

Buying
When bidding on RuneScape Trading Post, the best plan is to place a single bid of the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. The Auto bidding system will then place bids for you up to your maximum bid in increments of 10GP so if you bid 5000GP and the reserve is 3000GP your first bid will be 3001GP. If another bidder then bids 4000GP you bid will increase to 4010GP and you will remain the highest bidder. If someone then bids 5000GP your bid will increase to 5000GP, as you were the first to bid that amount. If no one else bids you will win the auction but if someone then bids above you 5000GP bid they will take the auction.

If you make a mistake when bidding i.e. you type in the wrong amount you need to contact rstp-admin@ian-c.co.uk and inform them of the mistake. They will then contact the seller and arrange to have the bid removed, you will then be expected to place a new bid of the correct amount. You must inform admin at the earliest opportunity to resolve the issue, as any delay could be interpreted as misuse.

Selling
To sell items login to the site and select the sell option from the menu. Select the category the item is in from the top drop down box, then select the item from the item drop down box. Enter the Quantity of the item you are selling in the Quantity box, then set the reserve price if any and/or a starting price. The reserve is the minimum price the item will sell for, the starting price is the minimum first bid. Finally set the Auction period from the last drop down box and your item will be added to the auctions awaiting bidders.

If you make a mistake placing an auction you need to contact rstp-admin@ian-c.co.uk as soon as possible to have the mistake rectified, otherwise the auction may have to stand if there are bidders on the item. So if you put in a low reserve by mistake you really need to get it corrected before anyone bids on the item. if you have just set the wrong auction period admin can correct this usually within 12 hours but again notify admin as soon as possible as they might think you are just trying to change the auction.

Completing a sale/purchase
When an auction ends e-mails will be sent to the parties concerned, i.e. if the auction has a winning bidder e-mails will be sent to both the seller and buyer informing them of the outcome of the auction. it will then be down to the parties involved to contact each other and arrange to meet in a location in a RuneScape world where you can make the trade. when using the message centre copies of the messages will be sent to the other parties registered e-mail address with a link to click to respond to the message. Do NOT respond via e-mail as there is no provision for the system to receive the e-mail so the other user will not know about it.

Always be careful when completing trades in RuneScape, make sure the other person is offering what they agreed in the auction, especially the amount of GP or Goods. Don't arrange to meet anywhere in the wilderness, as the other user knows that you are carrying a large amount of GP's or Valuable goods and you could be ambushed. Always agree on a location where you are safe with lots of people around, preferably near a bank so you don't have to carry the GP's/Goods around for a long time.  If you do have a bad experience when trading firstly leave appropriate feedback for the user so other user are aware of the incident. If its a breach of RuneScape rules inform the RuneScape Administrators using the report misuse links on their site, you can also inform the RuneScape Trading Post Administrator of serious breaches and they can take action against the users Trading Post account like suspending them.

Leaving Feedback
Once you have completed the transaction in RuneScape use your account summary to leave feedback on the trading experience with the user. Enter a comment about the trade and select the rating you are giving the user. The ratings are either Neutral which does not affect the user rating, Positive which will add 1 to the users rating or Negative which subtracts 1 from the users overall rating. If there is a dispute about feedback it is down to the users concerned to contact each other and resolve the issue. Once you have agreed to the solution you need both to contact the site administrator and inform them of the resolution to the problem and the Administrator can amend the records accordingly.
